The Send Off

It’s 3AM Monday June 25th and we have left Roseville CA. So many emotions leaving what’s been our home for most of our lives, our family and our friends. Matt began us with a beautiful prayer and I got us coffee at the closed “24 hour” Starbucks by pleading at the door that we could not bring a trailer through the drive thru. They were too kind to allow us to walk up to the window.

I will never forget this past weekend being a part of the Saturday Dusty Corners crew for Western States 100 Endurance Run where 369 brave souls take on “living a lifetime in one day” running from Squaw Valley down to Auburn. On Sunday, so many running friends who were able to come run/walk/talk and coffee with me and all the many texts and messages. I will miss you all so much and you have all been the epitome of encouragement. And then spending the day with our family, our parents and our children was just the best send off.

Now we are on our way…
